Updated Rent Smart Wales training offered by NRLA
Landlords and letting agents across Wales can now access updatedRent Smart Wales licensing training from the NRLA’s award-winning Training Academy. Both of the NRLA’s Rent Smart Wales courses - for landlords and letting agents - have been given a high assurance rating for the quality of delivery, and have now gone through the lengthy government approval process following updates to reflect the latest legislation changes.
One hundred days of Renting Homes Wales

Neath Port Talbot landlords offered chance to lease properties to council to tackle homelessness
Private landlords in Neath Port Talbot will be able to let their property to a council in order to help tackle homelessness. The council is the latest to join Leasing Scheme Wales, an initiative backed by the Welsh Government, which offers incentives for property owners who lease their properties to the local authority.

The Renting Homes (Wales) Act was brought in on Thursday (December 1) after a six year wait. In response the NRLA has produced a series of documents and guides to support landlords with properties in Wales through the changes.
Senedd confirms notice periods for converted contracts will increase to six months
On the eve of the introduction of the Renting Homes Wales Act, the Welsh Government has confirmed amendments increasing the notice period for fixed term contracts from two to six months. The vote was taken last night, with 36 in favour of the change and 15 against, despite strong opposition from landlords and other letting professionals.
