Navigating regulatory reform: Watch our webinar
The NRLA hosted an exclusive webinar this week, outlining details of the proposed new minimum energy efficiency standards (MEES) and how they will intersect with the Renters’ Rights Bill (RRB).
Plans to make landlords of the 2.5 million rental homes with EPC ratings of D-G pay up to £15,000 per property to bring them to a minimum C grade are currently out for consultation, with the deadline for change as early as 2028.
The webinar was hosted by the NRLA’s deputy director of innovation Steven Bletsoe, and featured updates from the training and public affairs team who outlined the various stages of the Renters’ Rights Bill, the amendments proposed in the House of Lords and the NRLA position.
The team also outlined how members can get involved in the energy efficiency consultation, which closes on 2 May and some of the key dates going forward, as well as answering common questions submitted by landlords.
