Self-assessment tax deadline fast approaching: advice for landlords
Landlords are reminded that the self-assessment tax return deadline is fast approaching, and they have until 31st January 2023 to file their self-assessment tax return online.
The NRLA has plenty of advice online for landlords when it comes to submitting a return, including guidance on how to complete a tax return, allowable expenses and more.
Anyone who files late, after 31st January, may face a penalty.

Delay to Making Tax Digital
Last month, HMRC announced a delay to the next stage of the Making Tax Digital roll out, which would have brought income tax self-assessment into scope, following pressure from the NRLA. and others.
It will also increase the income threshold landlords must meet before they need to enrol with the new system. Making Tax Digital is a plan by the Government and HMRC to Fully digitise UK tax.
