Deadline to respond to Lancaster licensing proposals extended
Untitled Section
Landlords in Morecambe have longer to have their say on plans to introduce two licensing schemes in the town, after the Council extended a consultation.
What is being proposed?
Lancaster City Council proposes to introduce a selective licensing scheme, covering Heysham North and West End Wards of Morecambe.
It is estimated that in some streets in these wards over 70% of properties are privately rented.
As well as selective licensing, the council has put forward a proposal to introduce an Additional HMO Licensing Scheme.
The original consultation launched on 2nd June, and had been due to close on 13th August.
However, the consultation has been extended and will now close at 5pm on Friday the 29th September 2023.
The Council is expected to run further public meetings about the proposals, which will be listed on the website here.
Landlords with rental properties in the town are urged to have their say in the consultation before it closes. To take the survey, and read the consultation documents, click here.
