Course of the month: Managing Property and Residential Lettings Level 3 Certificate

This month we shine a spotlight on one of the nationally recognised courses available through the award-winning NRLA Training Academy.

The Managing Property and Residential Lettings Level 3 Certificate offers a comprehensive guide to understanding the responsibilities of owning a property, from preparing it for letting to setting up the tenancy agreement and managing the let, covering everything from property law to financial planning.

The online course is designed for property managers and letting agents, to equip them to effectively manage PRS properties, enhance their skills and also increase their understanding of the rules and regulations that they are bound by in English law. 

The course should take around 125 hours, with an 18 month timeframe to complete it. 

The five modules:

  1. Preparing Landlords for letting – understand basic law of ownership
  2. Setting up and managing a tenancy – understand the selection and verification of a tenant
  3. Property standards – understand how to prepare a property for let
  4. Ending a tenancy – know how a tenant could end a tenant
  5. Contractual Relationship and Business Conduct – understand the law of agency.

Accreditation

This training course qualifies for 12 continuous professional development (CPD) points which can help towards or maintain your accreditation with the NRLA.

NRLA Accreditation recognises landlords who have agreed to maintain professional standards in the management and maintenance of their rented property and deal fairly and professionally with their tenants. CPD points are awarded for all activities which improve those attributes and are a requisite of membership of the NRLA Accreditation Scheme.
