Quarterly Reports

NRLA quarterly reports

Each quarter the NRLA invites members to share with us their views and opinions on a range of topics, issues and Government policies  which affect their ability to be a good landlord.

The results are published and build into a detailed picture of the views and opinions of landlords. These reports form the evidence base from which the NRLA makes the landlord case to both local and national Governments.

The research presented in this report is part of a longitudinal project to examine trends across the sector in relation to policy changes. This report focuses on the impact of welfare policy changes from a large sample of 2,974 landlords. When extrapolated the survey findings indicate £589 million could be owed to landlords. Future changes to the sector could exacerbate this issue.

Over 2,800 landlords participated in this survey which focused on understanding proposed changes to the taxation of the PRS, including changes to Mortgage Interest Relief, Stamp Duty Land Tax, and Capital Gains Tax. The findings identify serious implications for the financial health of the sector, on continued investment by landlords and offer a grim outlook for tenants.
