Share your story to get your voice heard where it counts

Dedicated to representing landlords in both Westminster and Cardiff Bay, the NRLA is committed to championing landlords’ rights and promoting reform that is fair to both landlords and tenants.

But we need your help.

As our Policy Director Chris Norris explains in his blog on the Renters’ Rights Bill and the related NRLA campaign, Government ministers are reticent to accept any change seen as pro-landlord. This is despite the fact some changes are likely to cause a huge amount of pain to those the Bill is designed to help – tenants, and in particular the most vulnerable.

The NRLA is committed to crafting evidence-based arguments, backing up our lobbying work with solid data. However, we also need real-life examples to strengthen our claims about the potentially devastating impact of these reforms.

Many if you have already written to your MPs to explain the impact of the Bill on you and your businesses, and the NRLA is now looking for landlords to share their stories in the media, and on our social media channels.

These case studies put a human face to the landlord label and tell the real story behind the statistics, helping win hearts and minds when it comes to arguing our case for workable change.

Landlords who have shared their stories for former campaigns include a single parent who had to cancel Christmas presents when her tenant stopped paying rent and a family trapped abroad with a sick child, unable to move back home when their tenant refused to move out.

These stories, shared on our news channels and in the national media, have made a huge difference when it comes to changing the rhetoric around landlords and challenging lazy stereotypes when it comes to the landlord/tenant dynamic.

We are now inviting you to help us help you.

If you would like to share your story about the impact the Renters’ Rights Bill will have on you and the way you run your business, please email [email protected] and one of our media team will get back to you.
