Record turnout for NRLA Landlord Conference
Record numbers of property professionals turned out for this year's annual NRLA Landlord Conference, keen to hear more about legislation change ahead - and how the sector can prepare.
With keynote speeches from Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and former Dragon's Den star James Caan CBE, the 2024 conference came hot on the heels of sell out events in 2022 and 23, with up to 1,000 landlords in attendance.
Presented by Nick Knowles, fresh from the Strictly dancefloor - and with his knee and arm still bandaged - the day's programme included everything from legislation updates and investment tips to what the recent budget and US election result might mean for lending.
Sponsored by Total Property this year's conference followed sell-out, award-winning events in 2022 and 2023 and welcomed high-profile industry figures including Richard Donnell, Executive Director of Zoopla and Paul Shamplina, TV star and founder of Landlord Action.
Landlord and developer Charlotte Edwards took to the stage to share her inspirational property journey and top investment tips, with the NRLA’s innovation director and founder of Safe2 James Kent hosting a popular session on proptech alongside entrepreneurs and disrupters from across the industry.
And it wasn't just about the speakers.

Delegates had ample networking opportunities during refreshment breaks and lunch, sponsored by Aspray and Strikes respectively, and picked up goodie bags courtesy of Wildstone; with a total of 38 stands in the exhibition hall offering a range of innovative products and services to support landlords. Other sponsors included LOFT and Safe2.
NRLA Chief Executive Ben Beadle said: “This was our biggest event yet, and from a personal perspective it was great to meet so many of you and hear first-hand about the issues keeping you up at night.
“Renters’ Reform was, of course, high on the agenda, and while there is no doubt 2025 will be a challenging time, the overriding mood was one of positivity - something that was reflected in feedback from delegates on the day.
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to all of you who came along - and encourage you to keep and eye on our news site and social media channels for the latest on plans for next year's conference and updates on our packed national and regional events programme."
