NRLA Landlord Conference 2023 - FOUR reasons to attend

In just over two months, the NRLA's Landlord Conference, hosted by award-winning journalist Clive Myrie, will arrive in Birmingham.

This one-day conference brings you a wealth of information and practical guidance on the Renters (Reform) Bill, housing market trends and more.

Our sell-out 2022 conference recently scooped the silver award for Best Association Event at the Conference and Events Awards and is also up for another accolade at the Association Excellence Awards '23.

This year's event, which takes place on Tuesday 24 October, is set to be bigger and better, and a must-attend for landlords, letting agents, and property investors.

Here, we've rounded up our top four reasons to book now for our Landlord Conference in 2023.

Hear first-hand about the Renters (Reform) Bill

It's fair to say that 2023 is shaping up to be a monumental year for England's private rented sector (PRS).

The Renters (Reform) Bill had its first reading in May and will bring about widespread changes to the private rented sector, including changes to tenancies and possession.

It's rarely out of the headlines, and as the NRLA continues to work hard to help shape the Bill in these early stages, our Landlord Conference will be your chance to hear first-hand about housing law reform, NRLA campaigning, and how you can get involved.

At the conference, you'll hear the latest from lauded industry experts, including David Smith, JMW Solicitors, Robert Bolwell, Dutton Gregory LLP, Michael Field, Freemans Solicitors, and Carly Jermyn from Woodstock Legal Services.

They’ll also be hosting a 'legal question time' where they’ll discuss upcoming changes and answer your questions on how the forthcoming legislation affects you.

Hear housing market predictions, and investment and financing strategies

With high buy-to-let mortgage interest rates, and research showing no let-up in the demand for private homes to rent, we've gathered leading industry experts to examine trends in the sector, investment and property financing strategies, and buying at auction.

Our excellent line-up of speakers includes Martin Roberts, TV presenter and property investor, Kate Faulkner, OBE, Designs on Property, Doug Hall, NRLA Mortgages, Richard Donnell, of Zoopla, Lucian Cook, Savills Head of UK Residential Research, and more.

Lively panel debates

Our lively panel debates were popular at our conference last year, so we are delighted to be running two panel debates at this year's event.

In the morning, we'll get to the heart of the important issues that matter to you as a landlord.

Our expert landlord panel includes Mairead Carroll, Associate Director RICS, Kristjan Byfield, Co-founder of the Depositary, and Ben Beadle, NRLA Chief Executive.

They’ll be discussing landlords' concerns and priorities and there will also be the chance for you to ask questions to the panel live.

That's not all, later in the afternoon we'll be joined by some of our partners, for a second panel discussion, summarising the takeaways from the day and looking at the road ahead.

Moubin Faizullah-Khan, Getground, Sue Coulson, Capital Letters, and Paul Shamplina, Landlord Action, will all take to the stage to share their thoughts.

Access offers and advice in our exhibition hall

Our exhibition hall is a fantastic place to mingle and speak to suppliers about the various products, tools and services in the market, that could save you time and hassle when it comes to managing your property portfolio.

We will have dozens of partners, NRLA recognised suppliers, and other businesses exhibiting on the day. Plus, with breakfast and lunch all provided, what's not to like?

You'll also see live demonstrations of NRLA Portfolio – our new property management tool, free and exclusive for NRLA members.

Network with hundreds of landlords like you

Our vibrant conference is a fantastic opportunity to network, and share experiences with 600+ landlords and property professionals like you.

As one delegate last year put it: “I walked into the room and I saw a sea of landlords”.

Whether you’re attending as a group, with a friend or just yourself, you'll be in good company and have the chance to make connections with other professionals.

Don’t just take our word for it, watch our highlights video from our 2022 conference, to hear directly from some of last year’s attendees:
