Cloakroom bathrooms can be very useful addition to a propert, and are attractive for prospective tenants and buyers alike.
Over time though, cloakroom bathrooms, just like any other room can start to look a little tired.
So if you want some advice on how to transform your cloakroom bathroom, for tenants - or even in your own home - check out this advice from NRLA partner TradePoint (B&Q).
5 ways to transform your cloakroom bathroom.
Make a statement using tiles
If the flooring in the understairs cloakroom is looking like it has seen better days, then you could consider installing patterned tiles. A combination of white walls and patterned tiles can be a striking look.
Consider using d-c-fix
If the cloakroom bathroom does have a small window, then you can use d-c-fix, a clouded film which you can easily apply (and remove) to windows, to add privacy. If you have small floating shelves, d-c-fix is also a quick way to transform them. For example, you could apply a marble effect film to floating shelves, which will can change the feel of the room.
Don’t be afraid to add some colour
You don’t even need to paint the entire bathroom to improve its appearance.
Perhaps the ceiling needs a fresh lick of white paint? Or, you could consider painting one wall with a colour paint. Vibrant patterned wallpaper on one or two walls can also really bring the room to life.
B&Q recommends keeping the colour palette simple, to create a cohesive look.
Swap your sink
As with most cloakroom spaces, if space is a little limited you can consider swapping the current sink to one that is more of a rectangle in shape, with storage underneath it, and also a modern tap. You could also add a splashback behind the sink. Top tip: Using a mirrored splashback can be a great way to make a room feel bigger, because the light will reflect round the room.
Floating shelves
Lastly, floating shelves can also be a good way to free up space, and free standing furniture can make a room feel more airy.
