Decent Homes Standard consultation launches
Proposals to extend the Decent Homes Standard to include the PRS are being consulted on. The NRLA has called for improved enforcement against the minority of criminal landlords who undermine the reputation of the majority of responsible landlords.
New CO alarm rules to come into force
Privately rented homes in England must have a carbon monoxide detector in every room that has a fuel-burning appliance, from 1st October 2022. Gas cookers are exempt. Members can learn more about the regulations in the NRLA's guidance for landlords.
