Course of the month: Legislation update

Staying up to date with the ever-changing legislation in the lettings industry can be daunting for all landlord, no matter what their level of experience and the NLRA's Legislation Update course offers delegates a comprehensive overview of legislation, guidance, and case law.  

This eClassroom course - delivered virtually, by a trainer in real time, will cover: 

  • An outline of the changes to the rules governing the use of possession notices, an in-depth review on the temporary and permanent changes because of coronavirus 

  • The significance of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), unfitness and retaliatory evictions 

  • The impact of the Tenant Fee Ban and other requirements around permitted and prohibited payments 

  • The latest electrical and fire safety changes for landlords 

  • Right to Rent changes post Brexit 

  • A detailed explanation of the latest Breathing Space requirements to support tenants with problem debt and suffering from serious mental health conditions 

  • Energy performance certificates and minimum energy efficiency standards 

  • Rules governing rent deposits, tenants, and those affecting agents 

  • Requirements regarding the supply of gas, electricity, and water 

  • Amendments to council rules dealing with both Mandatory and Discretionary licensing scheme 

  • The impact of the Housing and Planning Act including rogue landlord database, penalties and banning orders 

The course costs from £88 for NRLA members and from £110 for non-members and is worth three standard CPD points.
