London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham - HMO and selective licensing (Closes 10th August )
In 2017, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Council introduced two discretionary property licensing schemes in 2017 which require landlords to apply to the council for a licence. These schemes expire in June 2022. The council has proposed to re-designate the licensing schemes from June 2022 for a further five years, with appropriate adjustments.
The proposal is to continue with Additional HMO Licensing for all HMOs not covered by Mandatory HMO Licensing, and to substantially reduce the number of streets in the Selective Licensing scheme from 128 to 23, in order to focus on busy roads, flats above shops, and roads with a significant private rented sector. A survey has been launched to gather views on the proposed changes to the licensing scheme. Learn more and respond to the survey.
Manchester - selective licensing consultation (closes 29th August)
Towards the end of June, Manchester City Council launched a new consultation on plans to introduce a selective licensing scheme in some areas of Clayton and Openshaw, Harpurhey and Gorton and Abbey Hey. The consultation runs for ten weeks, and the proposed scheme is expected to affect around 1,400 private rented properties. Learn more about the plans and have your say.
London Borough of Haringey - selective licensing consultation (closes 5th September)

The proposed scheme would cover the council wards of Bounds Green, Bruce Grove, Harringay, Hornsey, Noel Park, Northumberland Park, Seven Sisters, St Ann’s, Stroud Green, Tottenham Hale, Tottenham Green, West Green, White Hart Lane and Woodside.
