In pictures: NRLA on Tour Swindon event
It was standing room only at the NRLA’s ‘On Tour’ event in Swindon this week.
NRLA South West representative Hannah Darling hosted as an impressive line-up of speakers took to the stage.
The event got underway with an update from Paul Shamplina, TV host and founder of Landlord Action, who spoke all about rental reform and the courts. Following this, Debbie Franklin of Peplows Chartered Accountants updated delegates on landlord taxation.
This week's NRLA on Tour event came just one day after our CEO Ben Beadle gave evidence in Westminster on the Renters (Reform) Bill to a cross-party group of MPs, as part of the "Committee" stage of the Bill's progression.
On Wednesday, Ben spoke to delegates at NRLA on Tour in Swindon about rental reform, and the NRLA's continued work to represent and support members.
James Kent, Managing Director of Safe2, powered by the NRLA, then took to the stage to demonstrate how landlords can use the Safe2 platform to easily arrange and renew property safety certificates, and to explain how Safe2 can do this on a landlord's behalf.
It was then time for a lively question-time style session, with our panel including Ben Beadle, David Smith, Head of Litigation at JMW solicitors and NRLA Legal Counsel, Paul Shamplina and Debbie Franklin all taking to the stage.
NRLA representative Mike Bull expertly hosted the Q&A, with the main topic being the Renters (Reform) Bill's progression. Great contributions from the panellists, and some good questions from the delegates, too.
The NRLA on Tour event in Swindon was gratefully supported by a range of NRLA partners and supporters, including; Leaders Romans Group, Rentguard Insurance, Tenancy Deposit Scheme, St. James's Place, NRLA Mortgages, Peplows Chartered Accountants, Safe2.
