In pictures: Hundreds attend NRLA on Tour Wales events

Hundreds of landlords in Wales attended our free NRLA on Tour events in November, held in Llanelli and Llandudno.

The events saw an excellent line-up of speakers and exhibitors sharing knowledge and expertise with delegates, as well as the chance to hear directly from NRLA CEO Ben Beadle about NRLA campaigning, and exciting NRLA prop tech developments.

The events were hosted by our Wales regional representatives Sandra Towers and Gill Owens.

In Llanelli, over one hundred delegates attended the event for an afternoon of insightful presentations.

Ben Beadle gave an update on the key focuses of NRLA campaigning. Delegates also heard from Jane Bryant MS, Welsh Government Cabinet Secretary for Housing, and Mark Isherwood MS, Shadow Minister for Housing and Planning, in pre-recorded addresses.

During her address, Jane Bryant MS told delegates: "The private rented sector plays a vital part in providing almost a fifth of homes for people in Wales".

The afternoon in Llanelli also featured presentations from Councillor Michelle Batemen, of Pembrokeshire County Council and James Hooker.

A panel discussion and Q&A followed, with Douglas Haig, NRLA non-executive director, Lucinda Wolf of Red Kite Law, Debbie Thomas of Crisis Wales, and Councillor Michelle Batemen providing valuable contributions.

NRLA on Tour Llandudno

Just a few weeks later, the final NRLA on Tour event of 2024 took place in Llandudno.

It was a capacity crowd, as delegates heard pre-recorded video messages from both Jane Bryant MS and Mark Isherwood MS.

There were also presentations from Councillor Michelle Batemen, of Pembrokeshire County Council, and the NRLA's Head of Training Steven Bletsoe, who delivered an essential session on our award-winning Training courses.

An informative panel discussion followed on what lies in store for the Welsh PRS, with expert contributions from Wendy Dearden of the Bevan Foundation, Ryan Heaven of Woodstock Legal Services, James Wood, the NRLA's Head of Policy, and Karl Tidman of 3mc Mortgages.

At both events, landlords also had the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the NRLA’s Portfolio property management tool and the NRLA's property compliance arm, Safe2.

Using the Safe2 platform, landlords can easily order, renew, and track property safety certificates. NRLA members can purchase certificates, such as EPCs, EICR's, and gas safety certificates, at a discounted rate.

Both events were also supported by a range of exhibitors, including TradePoint UK, Aspray Ltd, 3mc (UK) Limited, TDS, Nacro, One Stop Business Finance, and main sponsor Total Landlord Insurance.
