Dates live for new NRLA Renters’ Rights course

A new Renters’ Rights course is being launched by our award-winning Training Academy, with bookings now open.

The Renters’ Rights Bill, currently making its way through Parliament, promises the biggest changes to the private rented sector in a generation, with a raft of legislation change on the cards.

These include the loss of section 21 repossession rights, the abolition of fixed term tenancies, the introduction of a new Decent Homes Standard and digital PRS database, as well as limits to rent increases.

Getting it wrong could prove costly, with landlords facing fines or criminal prosecution for certain breaches, meaning it is vital you are up to speed with your responsibilities once the Bill receives Royal Assent, which is expected to happen early next year.

The new course has been designed with landlords, property managers and local authorities in mind, with special rates for NRLA members and will include:

  • A comprehensive overview of the Renters' Rights Bill and its importance.
  • Details of key legal changes and compliance requirements for landlords.
  • Information on tenant rights and enhanced protections under the new law.
  • Landlord obligations, what has changed and how to stay compliant.
  • Process changes following the removal of Section 21
  • Practical guidance on ensuring legal compliance and avoiding penalties.

Alex Nolan, senior training manager said: “While the Bill is still being fine-tuned, during its progression through Parliament, it is vital we are on the front foot when it comes to preparing you, our members and other property professionals for the changes up ahead.

“Our expert trainers are already developing content to support you through the period of transition and beyond, with our policy team working on the essential documentation you will need once the new regime is in force.

“Courses will start in February, by which time we expect to be fully up to speed on what the completed Bill will look like and what you need to know to stay compliant.”

Dates and times

Courses will be delivered via our eClassroom platform, virtually, in real time, by one of our expert trainers, with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points avilable.

Those who book ahead of time can benefit from our £55 early bird offer for members.

There are also plans to offer face-to-face classroom training and eLearning options in due course.
