Call for case studies to highlight interventions on homes and health
The Healthy Places team in the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is looking for examples of interventions in housing that can have a positive impact on health, and landlords are being invited to share their experiences.
Case studies will be included in a publication bringing together evidence, interventions and best practice aimed at improving health outcomes through housing.
The DHSC is particularly interested in hearing from landlords who can provide examples around improving the warmth of homes, reducing falls through targeting trip hazards or programmes to tackle loneliness or isolation. Cases could also include collaborative working, for example between housing and health teams or with external organisations, that has resulted in an improved service to people with health needs.
Case studies should focus on existing homes across all tenure types, including supported housing, and in all age groups. Interventions that aim to improve both physical and mental health are welcomed. Currently, interventions aimed at people who do not live in a home eg: rough sleepers or people in care are not being sought. Case studies should include contact information for further details that landlords would be happy to include in the publication.
If your case study is included, this will be published on the gov.uk website with backing from a number of national housing and health organisations and will be disseminated widely. This is an opportunity for your work to be shared nationally and potentially benefit those living in other parts of the country.
If you have an example of work that you would like to share please email [email protected] requesting the template to fill in by the end of November 2021.
