The Big Question: What do you think of Government's Renters (Reform) Bill?

The Government published the Renters (Reform) Bill this week, years after pledging change in its election manifesto.

The Bill proposes to:

  • Abolish Section 21
  • Get rid of fixed term tenancies
  • Reform possession grounds
  • Create a new property ombudsman
  • Bring in a digital Property Portal
  • Establish a statutory right for tenants to request a pet

Ahead of the publication of our summer magazine we want to know what you think of the plans. Are they workable? Are they fair? What needs to be revised?

We also want to know whether you will be making changes as a result of the proposals. Some landlords have said they will adapt, some, for example student landlords, are considering moving into another sector of the market. Others say they will simply sell up.
