Hello - Just a quick question. My tenant has given me notice to finish his tenancy. He wants to move out before the notice period, which is fine as he is all paid up to date and has been a great tenant on a whole for the 10 years he has lived there. I just need to know if I need to get him to sign something before he moves out to state that he intends to proceed and vacate on that date? And a document to 'check-out'/sign on leaving day, if there is such a thing? I know there is the inventory that now ceases to be valid (I'm going to renovate the property throughout).

A lot of the things that I have done concerning this property have been done in an informal way, but I now wish to get on top of all paperwork and structure things correctly and in a professional manner, as I don't wish to be caught out by a 'rogue tenant' next time around!

Many thanks again
