Background
In England, housing laws encompass many regulations and policies that define the relationships between landlords, tenants, and local government and how housing laws are formulated and implemented. Key legislations include the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, the Housing Act 2004, the Equality Act 2010 and many more. In this course, we will explore the various pieces of legislation and guidance that form the framework for housing in England. These laws address multiple aspects of housing rights, standards, and safeguards. Guidelines and regulations are in place to ensure that social housing meets economic standards. The primary objective of these laws is to safeguard tenants, maintain the quality of housing, and promote fairness in housing across England.
