Renting Homes Wales
Introduction
Renting Homes Wales introduces a new procedure that allows landlords to regain possession of a property without the need for a court order.
This procedure is only available where the property has been abandoned by the contract-holder and the landlord has followed the requirements by -
- giving adequate notice in the correct form;
- making enquiries to establish the property has been abandoned;
- including a clause in the contract that states the property must be used as the only or main home of the contract-holder
The following guidance provides landlords with instructions on following this procedure, which forms to use and how to complete them, as well as making sure the contract allows the abandonment procedure to be used.
The remainder of this guide explains the procedure for abandonment, which prescribed forms to use as well as other guidance on how to identify abandonment.
