More than eight hundred landlords, agents and property professionals attended the NRLA’s sell-out national landlord conference this week.

Housing Secretary Michael Gove addressed a packed auditorium at the event, answering landlord questions via livestream just a day after the Renters (Reform) Bill had its second reading.

Chair of the cross-party Housing Select Committee, Labour MP Clive Betts MP also addressed delegates at the October 24, along with industry experts including TV presenter and property investor Martin Roberts; Richard Donnell, Executive Director of Zoopla; Richard Rowntree, Managing Director of Paragon Bank; David Smith, Partner at JMW Solicitors and NRLA Legal Counsel and housing commentator Kate Faulkner.

The day-long conference, at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham was presented by TV presenter and journalist Clive Myrie, and included a packed programme of presentations, robust panel discussions, Q&A sessions as well as a bustling exhibition hall packed with 30 trade stands offering exclusive offers and discounts to members.

The 2023 conference came on the back of a hugely successful 2022 event – the NRLA’s first – which scooped silver in the Best Association Event category of this year’s Conference & Events Awards.

Here we have a round up of some highlights from the day. Do get in contact to let us know what you thought of the event, and keep your eyes peeled for details of our 2024 event on our news site and social media channels.
