NRLA staff have raised a massive £5,030 in memory of friend and colleague John Stewart, who died earlier this year.
Teams from the association took part in two 13-mile charity walks and held Macmillan coffee mornings in both the London and Manchester offices to raise the cash, which was presented to the charity this week.
NRLA chief executive Ben Beadle said: “John was a popular and valued friend, colleague and mentor for so many at the NRLA, and worked tirelessly for members with passion and conviction.
“He had a great love of the outdoors, and a sweet tooth – many remember his famous ‘Scottish tablet’ and love of Jaffa Cakes – so this seemed like a fitting way to remember him, while raising money for a cause that was close to his heart.
“As an organisation, we’d like to thank everyone who donated to the fundraiser for their kindness and generosity. We know the money will be put to good use supporting those living with this devastating disease.”
