Your events and training update for March

Welcome to your training and events guide for March. With all face to face events still on ice, here's all you need to know about what is coming up this month.

In addition to our comprehensive eLearning offering we have a wide selection of eClassroom courses to choose from throughout March, along with a packed regional and national webinar programme.

eClassroom courses

Our eClassroom courses are live, remote courses delivered via video by our expert trainers. Delegates can see the trainer and fellow students and interact via audio or the chat box. The course materials will be emailed prior to the day and regular breaks provided throughout.

We are running eClassroom events on everything from Electrical Safety to Property Tax and Landlords Update, a course that provides an update on the legal changes on the horizon.

NRLA Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Webinar: Crime Special from West Yorkshire Police

Join your local reps Ruth and Lesley who will give you the latest information all landlords need to know. As part of a series of talks by the West Yorkshire Police on crime prevention for this region, they will be joined this week by Natasha Gell, West Yorkshire Police Force Drugs Coordinator, Protective Service Crime. NRLA North East Regional Webinar: Budget & Taxation Special

This webinar will focus on dissecting the Chancellor’s Budget, set to be published on 3rd March 2021. What will it have in store for landlords? With Section 24 now biting hard and proposed changes to Capital Gains Tax, this webinar will help you to make the best of the current situation.

NRLA & Sandwell Council Landlord Forum

Register for the next in our series of Private Landlord Forums organised jointly by the NRLA with Sandwell Council taking place at 4.00pm on Thursday 18th March 2021.

This forum is a little bit different and will focus solely on guidelines for private landlords on managing the ever increasing issue of anti-social behaviour both possibly caused by your private tenants but also possibly by individuals or groups in the locality near your rented properties.

Andrew Clarke, Anti Social Behaviour Manager of Sandwell Council will lead presentations on the following topics:

  • What exactly is Anti Social Behaviour?
  • Investigating complaints by neighbours or your tenants.
  • Use of warning letters and ASB log sheets
  • Agreeing appropriate actions
  • Seeking support from Sandwell Council and/or the local police

NRLA North West Regional Webinar: Health & Safety, safe now, not sorry tomorrow. Some practical advice

This month your local Reps will be joined by Christine McGlynn and Bernadette Barrett from the HM Inspector of Health and Safety Executive.

The Health and Safety Executive is a UK Government agency responsible for the encouragement, regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety, and welfare, and for research into occupational risks in Great Britain. Christine and Bernadette would like to share some of their experiences with you and provide some practical advice to help you as a landlord avoid unintended consequences of not taking the correct course of action.

Rob and Ruth will provide you a legislative update on what is happening in the PRS and be available to answer any questions you may have. Join us for the next in the series of Virtual Landlord Forums organised jointly by the NRLA and Birmingham City Council.
