In pictures: Hundreds attend NRLA on Tour events this week
Hundreds of landlords attended our free NRLA on Tour events this week, held in Leicester and Cardiff.
The events saw an excellent line-up of speakers and exhibitors sharing knowledge and expertise with delegates, as well as the chance to hear directly from NRLA CEO, Ben Beadle about current campaigns on rental reform, energy efficiency, and in Cardiff, the Renting Homes (Wales) Act.
In Leicester, more than 200 delegates took to their seats on Tuesday for an evening of insightful presentations hosted by NRLA Midlands representatives Sandra, Don, and Teresa.
Ben Beadle gave an update on recent housing law changes, including the latest on the Renters (Reform) Bill which was published last week, and NRLA campaigning around this.
There were other presentations on the night from Property Investment expert and highly lauded NRLA trainer, Henry Davis MBA, who shared his advice on property investment after more than 30 years in the industry.
Nick Hodgetts, Brand Director at NRLA-recognised supplier Glixtone also presented a useful talk on minimising mould in rental properties.
Later in the week, Cardiff City Stadium, the home of Wales’ national football team, played host to NRLA on Tour in Cardiff, with South Wales rep Gill Owens and NRLA Operations Manager Steve Bletsoe presenting.
One of the main draws of the event was Julie James MS, the Welsh Government Minister for Climate Change, Housing, and Regeneration, who addressed a full room of landlords via a recorded video. The Minister spoke about the current rental landscape and also the pressures on the Welsh private rented sector.
A lively Welsh legislative panel discussion then followed, which included expert contributions from Douglas Haig, NRLA Non-Executive Director for Wales, Lucinda Wolf, Kearns Solicitors, Steffan Evans, Head of Policy (Poverty), Bevan Foundation and Cllr Lynda Thorne, Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities, Cardiff City Council.

At both events this week, landlords had the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the NRLA’s Portfolio property management tool, which is free for NRLA members. Both events were also supported by exhibitors, including Tradepoint, Safe2Rent, No Letting Go, Total Landlord Insurance, Glixtone, Movewise 3mc NRLA Mortgages and more.
NRLA on Tour follows other very well-received On Tour events which took place earlier this year.
The series of events come hot on the heels of the NRLA’s inaugural national conference in Coventry last November, which was a sell-out event with more than 600 attendees, and is currently up for several industry awards.
